Chamber Music Course UK – Co-ordinated by Rhiannon Evans

Our chamber music course UK offers formally organised opportunities to rehearse and perform chamber repertoire within a supportive and structured summer school setting. Co-ordinated by Rhiannon Evans, with coaching from The Brook Street Band and Claire Williams, the course is designed for instrumentalists who wish to explore chamber music in depth.

Participants may choose how many daily sessions to devote to chamber music, as the chamber music course UK runs across all four sessions of the day. This flexible format allows players to balance coached and uncoached ensemble time according to their interests.

Coaching and Session Structure

Formal coaching is offered as part of this chamber music course UK in:

  • Session 2 – for groups working at A=415 on Baroque repertoire

  • Sessions 3 and 4 – for groups working on any repertoire at any pitch

Session 1 offers co-ordinated chamber music without formal coaching, providing valuable rehearsal time and independent ensemble development.

Each participant in the chamber music course UK is assigned to a group in advance, taking into account musical standard, instrumentation and repertoire requests wherever possible. Suitable repertoire can be suggested if required, and participants are encouraged to contact fellow group members in advance to discuss programme choices.

Repertoire and Participation

This chamber music course UK welcomes a wide range of repertoire, from Baroque works at A=415 to works at modern pitch. Whether you are focusing on historically informed performance or mixed-instrument ensemble playing, the course provides a structured and rewarding opportunity for collaborative music-making.

If you wish to take part in the chamber music course UK, please complete the Chamber Music section on the booking form. Any specific repertoire requests should be included in the comments section, and every effort will be made to accommodate these preferences.

Participants will receive confirmation of their assigned group and suggested repertoire before arrival at the Summer School, allowing time for preparation and communication with fellow players.

Registration Information

To ensure the smooth running of the chamber music course UK, registration must be completed by 1 June 2026. While late bookings are sometimes possible, we cannot guarantee placement in a chamber group after this date.
