The Music Summer School and Festival is committed to supporting and nurturing deserving musicians of any age and any stage of their musical development. Thanks to the support of our generous donors we are able to provide bursaries to support those who may otherwise be unable to participate in The Music Summer School and Festival.

BURSARIES

You don’t have to be a student to apply for a bursary. We welcome applications from deserving musicians from all walks of life, be they students, retired, or on a low income. Bursaries can provide up to 90% of the full cost (fees, accommodation and meals) for participants. The number of awards is limited so please investigate all other funding and sponsorships sources.

PARTICIPANTS WITH DISABILITIES

In addition to applying for personal bursaries, participants with disabilities can apply for bursaries to help cover the cost of their helpers while at the Summer School.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Please complete the bursary application form linked below and return this together with a covering letter, CV, two contrasting recordings, and a digital scan of a passport style headshot photograph. Please send your bursary application to amy@mssf.org.uk by 1st April 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. If you need any assistance in completing a bursary application please contact Amy Ryan via amy@mssf.org.uk.

ADVANCED COURSES

We pride ourselves on offering high-quality, intensive, residential training for music students and those on the threshold of their professional careers.

Some instrumental, vocal and ensemble classes are aimed specifically at advanced level students or emerging professional musicians. These courses are identified within the course timetable. Students are selected for these courses in advance and must therefore apply with a covering letter, CV, reference from a musician of standing and recordings or scores as indicated.
