Choir – Week 1
For the Summer School Choir in Week 1, directed by Robert Hollingworth we will be using the following editions.

  1. Jean-Baptiste Rameau – In Convertendo
    This will be provided at the Summer School in a printed booklet at a cost of £3 per copy. You can download a PDF to prepare from at this link.
  2. Johan Sebastian Bach – Kyrie and Gloria from the Lutheran Mass in F major
    This can be ordered from Carus Verlag at this link and costs €10.50 for the vocal score.
  3. Johann Hermann Schein – Da Jacob vollendet hatte
    This will be provided at the Summer School in a printed booklet, together with the Schütz at a cost of £2 for both pieces. You can download a PDF to prepare from at this link.
  4. Heinrich Schütz – Die Himmel erzehlen die Ehre Gottes
    This will be provided at the Summer School in a printed booklet, together with the Schütz at a cost of £2 for both pieces. You can download a PDF to prepare from at this link.
  5. George Frideric Handel – Ode on the Birthday of Queen Anne
    This can be ordered from Bärenreiter at this link and costs £14.50.

Choir – Week 2

  2. Benjamin Britten – Jubilate Deo of 1961
    This can be ordered from the RSCM shop at this link and costs £5.50.
  3. Joseph Haydn – Missa in Bb major, Hob. XXII:14 ‘Harmoniemesse
    This can be ordered from Bärenreiter at this link and costs £18.50.

Other Courses – Music Preparation

Voice Courses – Week 1 and Week 2
Please bring 2 – 4 of your favourite pieces to work on during the week with your tutors.

  • Lone Voice: Please bring unaccompanied repertoire.
  • All other vocal courses: Please bring copies of your music for the accompanist.
  • Lieder Class: A suggested repertoire list is available on our website here.
  • Jazz A Capella Singing -music will be provided at the beginning of the course for you to learn together.
  • Pure Imagination – Please bring a favourite piece that inspires you—any genre, any style—as a starting point for imaginative exploration.

Advanced Chamber Music and Chamber Music – Week 1 and Week 2
Repertoire will be selected once ensembles have been finalised. This allows tutors to choose music that best suits each group, ensuring an enjoyable and rewarding chamber music experience. Guidance will be provided by Rhiannon Evans before the course begins.

Harpsichord and Organ – Week 1
Please bring 2 – 4 pieces that you would like to explore with the tutors during the week.

Folk Music Ensemble, Triumphans – Music for Grand Occasions, Jam Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Improvisation and Big Band – Week 1
All music will be provided at the start of the course. You’ll work on the repertoire together during the week, allowing everyone to begin from the same starting point and make the most of the ensemble experience.

Baroque Orchestra – Week 1
Music for the concert on Wednesday 5th August can be found at this link. Printed parts will be available when you arrive at the Summer School. Music for the concert on 7th August will be provided on your arrival at the Summer School.

Collaborative Piano – Week 1 and 2
Music will be selected at the start of the course in consultation with Anna Tilbrook and fellow participants on the course.

Ensemble Courses – Week 2
(Light Orchestra, Tango Orchestra, Opera Ensemble Orchestra, Classical Orchestra, Wind Band, Percussion Ensemble, String Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble and West African Drumming)
Music will be provided at the beginning of the course. Our tutors carefully select repertoire to suit each ensemble, and you’ll learn and develop the music together throughout the week.

Solo Instrumental Courses – Week 2
Please bring 2 – 4 of your favourite pieces to work on with your tutors during the week. Your courses do include an accompanist, please remember to bring copies of your music for them.
