Voice with Sarah Gabriel

This informal course welcomes anyone who loves to sing, at any level of experience. It’s an opportunity for you to work on solo songs; to share them with the group and explore aspects of singing that matter to you: it might be to uncover what makes you distinctive as a performer, to find the unique interpretation of a song that makes it truly yours, to improve your memorising process using methods that suit you best, to improve confidence, to tackle performance nerves, to relish telling stories in music, or to discover fresh ways to make the very most of your voice.

Please bring two or three songs to work on that you know well. Any song from any period or genre is welcome. To make the most of your time, short pieces of about three minutes are best. Knowing a song from memory is useful, but by no means compulsory. We’ll be working with a pianist, so if your songs are accompanied, please bring clear copies of the music for them to play from.
