To Stand up and Sing – Vocal Workshop

This is a class for keen singers of all abilities, running in the style of an informal masterclass. Over the week, we will explore what it means to develop our own voices in singing, looking towards using tips of technique to free expression and enable performance. Each singer will receive one to one coaching in front of the class and will be asked to bring at least one song or aria that they know well. The group aspect of the class gives an opportunity to learn from observing fellow participants, building on ideas of technique, interpretation, expression, and performance as well as developing an understanding of how to collaborate positively with accompanists. At the end of the week we will have an informal performance where each participant will have an opportunity to present their chosen song in the context of what they have learnt in front of the rest of the group.
