The Lone Voice – works for unaccompanied voice
Sat 8th Aug to Sat 15th Aug
SS26
SS26
This course offers an in-depth exploration of classical repertoire for unaccompanied solo voice: from Brahms’ Ophelia Lieder to Judith Weir’s King Haralds Saga, contemporary works by Kurtág or Berio to timeless folk melodies. Engaging with unaccompanied repertoire is wonderful for reconnecting with YOUR voice, rather than feeling in hoc to an accompaniment, and deepens participants understanding of musical structure, timing, theatrical potential, text and the intimate connection between voice and audience.
