Sir Nicholas Kenyon

Sir Nicholas Kenyon was Controller of BBC Radio 3 (1992-8), Director of the BBC Proms (1996-2007) and Managing Director of the Barbican Centre (2007-2021). He is now chief opera critic of the Telegraph and an Emeritus Leverhulme Fellow researching the history of the early music revival at Pembroke College Cambridge. He was previously a music critic for The New Yorker, Times and Observer. He is the author of books on Simon Rattle, the BBC Symphony Orchestra,  and J S Bach. He edited the influential volume Authenticity and Early Music. He is the author of the Faber Pocket Guide to Mozart, and recently talked on Martin Randall’s Mozart Journey.
