Pippa Dames Longworth

Pippa has sung roles for Paris Opera (Palais Garnier), the ROH, ENO, Opera Holland Park, Opera North, Teatro Real, Madrid, for Frankfurt Festival, Maggio Musicale, Florence, the Edinburgh International Festival, the BBC Proms, Bath, Covent Garden and Cheltenham Festivals, The Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Snape Maltings. An experienced and versatile singer, her roles range from Monteverdi through to Verdi, Britten and contemporary works.

She has worked with Sir Georg Solti, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Andrew Davis, Sir Roger Norrington, Jiří Bělohlávek, David Robertson and with the Hallé Orchestra, RPO, Philharmonia and BBC Symphony Orchestra as well as with the Brodsky Quartet, Schubert Ensemble and Tippett Quartet. She has also worked with Theatre de Complicité, Muziktheater Transparant and Centro di Musica Antica.

She has recorded for Radio 3 and 4, for Channel 4, SkyArts, BBC 2 and as “Operaplayhouse’ was the subject of a BBC documentary. She has recorded Stravinsky for Robert Craft and the RPO and Birtwistle (winner of that year’s Gramophone Awards) for Sir Andrew Davis and the BBC SO. For fifteen years, she devised and performed programmes with colleague, Karl Daymond, in the UK, Spain, Africa and the Caribbean.

Pippa has given Masterclasses throughout the UK as well as in Moscow, Africa, Spain and Prague, and for the past ten years has directed her own group of soloists, ‘Singing Salon’ who regularly perform at The Royal Pavilion in Brighton. She trained at The Guildhall School of Music.
