Becky Inkster

Dr Becky Inkster is a mental health neuroscientist who seeks innovative ways to improve our understanding and treatment of mental health in the digital age. She provides cross-sectorial guidance and leadership on mental health innovation to numerous stakeholders that span academia, technology, human rights, mental healthcare, and government. She applies measured optimism when working across artificial intelligence-enhanced mental healthcare, neuroscience, ethics and governance, as well as digital-, clinical-, and music-based interventions, social media, and public engagement. She seeks to understand mental health and brain health from a holistic and person-centred approach.

She obtained her DPhil in Psychiatry at Oxford University, and is currently affiliated with Cambridge University. She has been on the International Advisory Board for Lancet Digital Health for over 5 years, and has worked with the Alan Turing Institute across a range of programmes. She co-founded Hip Hop Psych and has over 10 years’ experience merging hip-hop music and culture with healthcare. She is Head of Science at Arts ARKADE, a new space in the heart of London dedicated to supporting youth in innovative ways.
