Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio and currently works for the RAM and ENO. He has performed all over the world as an accompanist with singers such as Emma Bell and Christopher Maltman, including recitals and broadcasts in Canada, USA, Argentina, Panama, France, and all the major recital venues in the UK.

Andrew has been a regular member of the music staff at Glyndebourne since 2001 and worked with such conductors as Jurowski, Elder, Mackerras and Wigglesworth. He appeared with the London Philharmonic Orchestra on Glyndebourne’s recent CD of Britten’s Turn of the Screw. In the summer of 2012 at Glyndebourne, he completed his project of accompanying the recitatives in all three Da Ponte Mozart operas by performing with Robin Ticciati in Le nozze di Figaro.
