Alex Julyan

Alex Julyan is a visual artist, curator and producer. She has worked for over 35 years
both independently and collaboratively, creating exhibitions and live events. Whether
she is working in her studio or in public her work focuses on disrupting and
transforming everyday ideas, places and situations by using simple materials and
methods.

She has worked on a number of large-scale immersive events including: John Cage
Musicircus at English National Opera and the Barbican, Dartington Summer
School and the BBC Proms. She devised the Royal opening for the Francis Crick
Institute, and a wide range of interactive public events for Wellcome Collection. Her
studio work has been shown at the Royal Academy, Whitechapel Gallery, London
Art Fairs and Festival Hall. Whatever the context of each project her focus is on
creating extraordinary experiences for participants and audiences alike.
