Adam Clark

Adam Clark performs traditional music with guitar, banjo, anglo-concertina and voice, appearing regularly at festivals, folk clubs and venues across the UK. Over three decades of performing, recording and composing with a range of bands, he has explored the rich traditions of American folk and bluegrass (with The Cobbler Bob String Band and Clark & Zuppardi), West African music (with Sefo Kanoute), jazz manouche, and his own songwriting (with Nobodaddy). As a solo artist, his focus has increasingly turned to the traditional music of his native Norfolk.
Inspired by the rich lineage of Norfolk singers and songs, he is particularly drawn to material that explores our relationship with the natural world, the land and each other. “For years I couldn’t find a way into the music of the country I live in,” he says, “but since the pandemic something has shifted. I feel deeply drawn to the songs and tunes of my ancestors in Britain and Ireland – music that comes from the land and the communities I call home, and that has survived because it continues to speak to generation after generation.”
Alongside his performing work he delivers participatory performances in residential care and SEND settings as a musician with Live Music Now, and leads a range of workshops and community music sessions.
Recent projects include Clark & Zuppardi’s Lutestring, a suite of original tunes and prints inspired by British moths. His debut solo album, Folk and Fold, will be released in 2026.
