Huw Wiggin
Huw Wiggin is a leading British saxophonist, recognised for his artistry, versatility, and contribution to saxophone performance and education. He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at major venues worldwide, including Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room, St John’s Smith Square, and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing.
A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal College of Music, Huw went on to win the Gold Medal and First Prize at the Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition, where he was also named Commonwealth Musician of the Year. He has since established a distinguished international career, performing extensively across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Huw is Professor of Saxophone at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and regularly gives masterclasses at leading conservatoires and festivals worldwide. His teaching focuses on classical technique, tone development, and musical interpretation, with a strong emphasis on collaboration between saxophone and piano in performance.
