Frances Burns – Chief House Parent

Frances Burns – Chief House Parent

I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone at this year’s Summer School – greeting ‘old’ friends and getting to know newcomers.  My first year at the Summer School was when I was 21 (many years ago!) with so many happy memories created.  Subsequently, I have enjoyed the role of House Parent for many years and it’s been great to meet so many musicians from different backgrounds all sharing enthusiasm and joy in the week’s music making.  As well as aiming to help everyone with day to day queries, I take part in as many sessions as I can as a cellist.   I revel in chamber music and orchestral playing and learning from the many inspiring tutors.   Greshams is in a great location and I like exploring the surroundings, a hobby that I enjoy in my home area of Exmoor.  I’m also a great fan of the food and particularly of the puddings!
