Dan Carney – Piano Technician

Based in Manchester, Dan Carney is a piano technician providing tuning and technical services to esteemed institutions such as the Bridgewater Hall, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, RNCM, Grammy-award winning studios, and more. His extensive clientele includes world-renowned soloists, orchestras, and chamber groups, establishing him as a pivotal figure in major music festivals and summer schools across the UK.

Since 2019, Dan has held the position of Head Concert Technician at the Bridgewater Hall, where he prepares pianos for acclaimed international artists and manages standby services for live BBC Radio 3 broadcasts spanning diverse genres of music. Concurrently, he holds the same title at the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, The Hallé Orchestra, and Manchester’s Stoller Hall.

An alumnus of Chetham’s School of Music, the Royal College of Music, and the University of Huddersfield, Dan’s profound love for music is deeply rooted. His commitment to musical excellence shines through both in and outside the concert hall.

Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds great joy in outdoor activities with his wife Freyja and their 6-year-old son, Joseph.
